Matt Tubbs continued his remarkable goalscoring record – we told you on Friday, it was bound to happen – in the 3-1 win at Cambridge United as he struck twice to take his tally to 11 goals in nine matches against the same opponents. He did, however, deny he’d scored a second successive hat-trick as he discussed the events with Neil Allen.
In a controversial match, both managers had their say with Blues boss Paul Cook decidedly happier than his Cambridge counterpart, Richard Money, who ranted at anyone and everyone after he saw his skipper, Mark Roberts, sent off at half-time.
