Moneyfields boss Carter: I want the bragging rights at my local pub!

'We are the holders of the cup and want to defend our title,' said Carter.

'Denmead won't be any pushovers as they knocked out AFC Portchester last season.

'They will be busy and hard-working so it is important that we go out and match them.

'Also, it is being played on a 3G pitch which is a little different for us.

'I have brought in six new signings and changed the backroom staff in a bid to freshen things up a little.

'Last season I felt things had gone a bit stale and flat.

'The new lads that have come in have all impressed and we have had a good pre-season.

'This is our first competitive game and comes at an ideal time.

'We can use it as preparation for our FA Cup tie against Camberley Town on Saturday.

'A further incentive for me is that I live in Denmead and want bragging rights at the local pub!'

Carter has a few injury problems to contend with against a Denmead side from Division 1 of the Hampshire Premier League.

Tyler Giddings (knee), Conor Bailey (toe) and goalkeeper Max Flintoff (groin) are all doubtful starters while Connor Hoare has a broken arm.

Moneyfields won the PSC in 2018/19 with a 7-1 success against HPL club Paulsgrove at Fratton Park.
