They have plenty of confidence and are looking strong going into the final stages of the season.

‘We have had two excellent wins on the bounce and must look to keep that going,’ said Carter.

‘Though we beat Newport easily in the first meting we won’t be taking anything for granted.

‘Against Sholing we put in a faultless defensive display and scored our goals at the right time.

‘That win shows just how far we have come.

‘I am looking for us to push as far up the league as we can.’

Carter hopes to have Louis Martin, Jack Lee and Lewis Fennemore back in contention.

Fareham Town are aiming to stretch their unbeaten run to six games.

The Reds have also been looking strong in recent matches.

They take on Bemerton Heath Harlequins at Cams Alders (3pm).

They moved into mid-table with a 2-0 home win over Lymington Town, courtesy of goals from Callum Laycock and Benny Read.

Any relegation fears have now left the building with the Reds able to enjoy their football.

‘Now we are mathematically safe we might be able to relax a bit,’ said manager Steve Stone.

‘It has been tough with our small squad but the players have worked really hard.

‘I have not been able to put the same team out two games running all season.

‘We are heading into a busy period of three games a week until the end of the season.

‘It is a case of strapping players up and keeping them going.’

Manager Craig Pearce is looking for Horndean to get back on the winning track against Brockenhurst at Five Heads Park (3pm).

After thumping Folland Sports 5-0 his side were brought back down to earth with two away defeats in midweek.

Losing at Blackfield and Verwood has dented their chances of gaining a top six finish.

Fifth-placed AFC Portchester will expect to get back to winning ways at lowly Bournemouth (3pm).
