The Blues head to the Crown Ground looking to close an eight-point gap to league leaders Plymouth.

Paul Cook’s fourth-placed side, though, will be without midfielder Danny Hollands, who has broken his leg and Caolan Lavery who has returned to parent club Sheffield Wednesday.

Pompey, however, have not given up hopes of renewing the striker’s loan deal on the south coast.

Definitely ruled out are defender Christian Burgess and goalkeeper Paul Jones, while the Blues yesterday waved goodbye to out-of-favour midfielder James Dunne who has joined Cambridge United.

Jack Whatmough continues his loan spell at the Hawks as he looks to regain match fitness following a long-term knee injury.
