Kal Naismith’s late strike proved the difference as the Blues earned a stay of execution in the Checkatrade Trophy.

Paul Cook’s side will now be casting their attention to Yeovil and Reading under-23s’ tie on Wednesday night - with a win for the Royals’ youngsters the result required to seal Pompey’s progress.
