Royals boss Graham Rix was left bemoaning his side’s poor defending after they crashed to a 5-2 loss at the hands of Blackfield & Langley.

He said: ‘We were very fragile and some of the goals we conceded were really poor.

‘After working hard to get back into the game at 3-2, we made another error which killed us off.’

Josh Warren and Miles Everett scored the goals.

Ashley Harris, Dan Woodward and Steve Hutchings hit the target as Moneyfields won 3-1 at Bournemouth Poppies.

‘We did a good job on a pitch that was like a dried up cow field,’ said boss Dave Carter.

‘We were so dominant it almost became too easy.

‘It is pleasing to keep up our unbeaten start.’

Harris tapped in the opener after two minutes before creator Woodward turned scorer for the second.

Sloppy defending saw the hosts reduce the deficit on the stroke of half-time but Hutchings made certain of all three points with a bullet header after the break.

Andrew Mathewson’s debut goal gave Fareham Town a 1-0 win over Andover Town at Cams Alders.

‘We had 17 players missing, our goalkeeper got injured in the warm-up and one of our substitutes had an asthma attack and had to come off,’ said Reds boss Steve Stone.

‘It was a miracle game where good defensive organisation did the trick.’

Horndean were forced to share the spoils in a 1-1 draw against Hamworthy United at Five Heads Park.

Luke Heard had put them in front on 27 minutes.

‘We lack the mentality to win games at the moment,’ said boss Michael Birmingham.
