It’s been a fairly lively start for Pompey with deals for defender Rob Atkinson and midfielder Isaac Hayden across the line.
That’s been matched by the volume of names and speculation which has been steadily growing since the end of last year.
As ever, some of the names and talking points surrounding Pompey’s activity has credibility - with a lot of the other issues having less substance.
So using out contacts and knowledge of the situation at PO4, we’ve pulled together some of the transfer truths so far - and those window duds which need throwing in the bin.

5. Attacking focus
The News reported Pompey want a winger in addition to a deep-lying central attacking option weeks before the transfer window opened. And with defender Rob Atkinson and midfielder Isaac Hayden now in the building that is where the focus has turned to in terms of key additions. It’s believed the Blues will look to the fringes of Premier League squads for those players, with FA Cup obligations being completed expected to help speed things up. Equating that route with players who can impact the first-team picture now will be an interesting dynamic. The fact Pompey explored a move for Brentford midfielder Paris Maghoma, albeit in a different position, perhaps shows the level of player being sought. | Getty Images

6. Sammy Silvera
Sammy Silvera’s Pompey career is over. We await the official confirmation of the Aussie winger’s return to Middlesbrough - but there’s no doubt his days at Fratton Park are numbered. Fans turning on the 24-year-old at Bristol City last month sounded the death knell for Silvera’s disappointing stay, with a recall expected to be actioned at any time. 7. Joe Gelhardt
Pompey’s transfer window whack-a-mole. Talk of the Blues being linked with the Leeds United striker has been continually popping up with November. The News thought they’d need talk of interest in the 22-year-old in the bud, with their story quoting John Mousinho saying Pompey don’t want the front man. Still the speculation persisted, however. There was never anything in it and Gelhardt is now said to be off to Hull City. | Getty Images

8. Cammy Devlin
The latest transfer dud to surface is the Blues being linked with Hearts midfielder Cammy Devlin. Talk of activating a £280,000 release clause in the Australia international’s contract emerged last week, it was speculation without substance. At 5ft 7in, Devlin didn’t fit the profile of player being sought with Isaac Hayden’s more powerful presence brought in from Newcastle for the season. | SNS Group
