The loss also ended an encouraging spell of three successive League One wins.
Cannon told The News: ‘It’s one of those days, which is frustrating, but that’s football for you.
‘There are games when you feel you’re in control and don’t get the win. There have probably been times over the last year or two when the other team has had most of the ball and we’ve ended up coming away with three points.

‘They have the quality to do that, but it’s that final pass.
‘Fair play to Charlton’s defence, I thought they defended quite well to be fair, so there’s nothing we can do.
‘Charlton didn’t create too much, but won. I don’t think they did anything, just two chances and that’s it, they have gone away with the three points.
‘It’s just one of those days, it happens, we have just got to put it behind us and concentrate on Tuesday, which will be a tough game.’
