Pompey have pledged to refund supporters the full value of EFL Trophy final tickets, including booking fees.

And those who had bought tickets for the unfulfilled 2020 Wembley encounter will receive the money automatically.

However, the refund will exclude postage fees.

More than 50,000 Pompey tickets had been sold for the scheduled April 2020 clash with League Two Salford at the home of football.

Yet the coronavirus outbreak forced the final’s suspension.

As a result, Pompey’s refund procedure will begin on February 1, with money to be automatically returned to the card used to purchase tickets.

Those who made payment by cash or whose refund is unable to be automatically processed to card, will be contacted by the club’s ticketing team.

In such instances, a manual refund will be issued.

It is anticipated the entire refund process will be completed by the end of February.

‘Further discussions will now take place with the EFL and Salford City to arrange a new date for the match to take place.’
