The Blues had been facing defeat after James Collins’ 85th-minute penalty, an outcome which would have been really harsh on them.
However, Bishop turned home Terry Devlin’s pass at the death to cap a good Pompey display - and here are our player ratings…
5. Connor Ogilvie - 7
Took a real battering but soldered on as ever. Had a 69th-minute header from Lane’s free-kick which was saved and then substitute Devlin somehow missed with a header from his left-wing cross in stoppage time. Photo: Jason Brown
6. Marlon Pack - 8
Building up a bit of form of late and very impressive once again after quiet start to the season. Dominated midfield areas and even after unfortunate early booking never dipped. Photo: Jason Brown
7. Alex Robertson - 7
(Replaced by Terry Devlin on 90 minutes) Came in to replace the suspended Morrell and asked to operate a little deeper than he usually would, yet it worked. Some driving runs centrally, usually brought down with a foul, and always seems to have a bit of time on the ball. Needs to stop picking up these silly bookings, though. Photo: Jason Brown
8. Abu Kamara - 7
(Replaced by Tino Anjorin on 71 minutes) A couple of bright first-half runs down the left, one of which teed up Bishop for a good chance. One time tracked back brilliantly to steal the ball of Mendez-Laing, but faded in the second half. Photo: Jason Brown
