It ended 1-1 at Fratton Park as the Blues’ wait for a play-off win continues at the seventh time of asking.

Morris was a surprise inclusion in place of captain Tom Naylor after a 14-month lay-off with an abdomen injury.

The 24-year-old produced a positive display in the heart of midfield on his return and felt his team were the better side.

Morris believes Kenny Jackett’s team can now finish the job at the Kassam Stadium.

He said: ‘It was wave after wave really at times.

‘We moved the ball about a lot better on the day and the goal came from a really good move.

‘Maybe in the final 20 minutes in the first half we stopped playing a bit.

‘But we’re confident about what we can do now going into the second leg.’
