Defender Sean Raggett's surprise reaction to what new record means to Portsmouth after landmark Tranmere win

The Blues set a club landmark for consecutive wins as they continued their flying form with a 2-0 success at Tranmere.

The ninth maximum on the bounce is a high-water mark for the club since they started playing league football a century ago.

It was also a fourth league clean sheet on the bounce for Kenny Jackett’s side as they moved up to fifth place in League One.

Raggett opened his Pompey goal account with a first-half header to set his side on their way to success.

The 26-year-old was delighted he could help his side set a new benchmark for successes, but the Norwich loanee feels Pompey can only reflect happily on the run if they reach the Championship.

Raggett said: ‘Promotion is the aim. There’s a long way to go yet, but that’s definitely the aim for the season.

‘One of the lads said about the record in the dressing room afterwards.

‘The records are nice but I don’t personally think they’ll mean anything unless we get promoted.

‘Everyone’s buzzing at the moment. We just feel like we’re not going to lose.

‘We really need to keep this momentum going now.

‘We have to keep it going now and build on it against Coventry.’
