That figure includes their five loanees – Joe Pigott, Owen Dale, Matt Macey, Dane Scarlett and Di’Shon Bernard. It also involves Jayden Reid, who suffered an ACL in pre-season.
The club have consistently insisted nothing will be decided until the end of the season so that head coach John Mousinho can fairly run the rule over every player at his disposal.
Yet that hasn’t stopped the topic being discussed with those with an influence on the situation at Fratton Park.

![John Mousinho: ‘Ryan has impressed me, I think he has played very, very well. Sometimes his work goes unnoticed in the middle of the park – but we certainly see it when watching games back and observing the effort he puts in over the 90 minutes. He is very calm and composed in possession without doing anything flashy and keeps things very simple. That might not sound like the most glamorous thing to say, but it’s actually a real trait to have as a player Simplicity is what football is all about a lot of the time, Ryan manages to do that, keeping the ball ticking over, and is excellent technically, receiving the ball, passing it and then making the angle. Ryan certainly doesn’t go unnoticed in the office.’](https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/webimg/b25lY21zOjI2MWRhZjUwLTljYTAtNGFhNy1iZDUyLTcyZTE5NDU0OTg5Nzo3MzBmODZmNS1hMTU5LTQ5NmQtYmExOC1kYjUwOGVlZGIxOTA=.jpg?crop=3:2&width=800)

![John Mousinho: 'He’s definitely a player we will be looking at in terms of his contract and trying to keep him. I’d like to keep him. We’re reviewing all of the contracts and I would be lying if I said we hadn’t spoken about what we do with Connor and taking up his option in the summer. We’ve got to make sure the timescale is right and review everything properly – but that certainly is a possibility for us.’](https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/webimg/b25lY21zOjljZDk4MmFmLWE1NTYtNDVkOS1hMmUyLThlM2M4ZDQ1NWVhYTo1NTUwNzllYS05Mjg2LTRiMTctYWE1Ny1lNzgyNjVhNmE1ZWM=.jpg?crop=3:2&width=800)

![Andy Cullen said: 'We will support Ronan, as we should do. We rightfully should be seen as a caring football club. Absolutely, 100 per cent we will look after him, unless, with him being out of contract, he signs for somebody else, then they will take it over. But we will back him and support him and make sure he comes through his injury rehabilitation in the best possible way. I think it’s important, it’s exactly the way you want to be seen to behave and fits our values. I can’t talk for every club but it’s the right thing for Portsmouth Football Club to do.'](https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/webimg/b25lY21zOjhlNmI5Y2E3LWIzN2YtNDA5Yy1hMzM0LTQ2ZDMxZmIwOTE0ODo2ZmMyOTNjMC03MzNkLTRkOTAtODY2Yy05MDQwOGRjMWEwZDc=.jpg?crop=3:2&width=800)

![John Mousinho: 'Clark is an excellent player, a really cultured left-sided centre-half. It probably tells you everything you need to know about his ball-playing ability that, when I was down on set-pieces at Oxford against Pompey, not only was he a threat in the box but also might be taking them. We also know he’s an excellent defender and brings a huge amount of experience to the side. He’s composed on the ball, can drive from the back and deliver the ball really well. We know what Clark is about, if he comes in, we know what he’s going to produce, he’s not a 19-year-old. It would be nice for Clark to have a bit of playing time between now and the end of the season and if, for whatever reason, he doesn’t, we still know what Clark is all about. It is really useful to have a look at players at any time, but particularly between now and the first week of May.'](https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/webimg/b25lY21zOmM4M2RhN2NiLWRlZDAtNDI2NS04YzAxLWRmNmRlYzIxMWI1MjoxNTU0YzEyMC04ZGZiLTQ5NjctOGEzMC0zZTg1MzE4ZjhjYWY=.jpg?crop=3:2&width=800)
