Director Eric Eisner hails fans for their contribution to Portsmouth win at Bolton

And, via Twitter, Eisner offered his respect to those fans who made the near nine-hour round trip.

He tweeted: ‘The blue army was out of force today!!!!

‘Big respect and i’m sure a boost to everyone on the pitch #bluearmy’.

Eisner also praised the Pompey players for holding out to claim all three points against Keith Hill’s side.

In a tongue-in-cheek remark, he said the team had won ‘the Pompey way’.

He added via Twitter: ‘The cardiac kids aka the Pompey way. #pup’ – which was similar to Michael Eisner’s tweet after the final whistle blew in the north west.

Making reference to the nervous wait for the win to be secured, Pompey’s American chairman said: ’3 more crucial points. Another cardiac last 10 minutes.’
