The striker has completed a switch to Doncaster after dropping down the pecking order at The Valley.

The well-travelled Bogle had a spell at Fratton Park during the second half of the 2018-19 season from Cardiff.

He scored four goals in 14 outings, helping Kenny Jackett’s side claim the Checkatrade Trophy although their promotion bid fell short in the play-off semi-finals against Sunderland.

Following his release from the Bluebirds last summer, the ex-Grimsby favourite was a free agent for several months.

He eventually moved to Charlton, signing a one-year deal.

However, Bogle failed to sparkle in London. He netted just twice in 17 matches and was substituted before half-time in the Addicks’ 4-2 loss to Burton in November for a performance deemed unacceptable.

Lee Bowyer has bolstered his forward options during the January transfer window.

He brought in Ronnie Schwartz from FC Midtjylland on a permanent basis, along with Jayden Stockley – another ex-Blues man – and Liam Millar on loan from Preston and Liverpool respectively.

As a result, Bogle was rendered surplus to requirements and has been granted an exit before fifth-placed Pompey go to the sixth-placed Addicks tomorrow.

The mercurial former Birmingham man has switched to another side in the automatic promotion race in Doncaster, penning an 18-month deal.

Darren Moore’s men currently sit fourth in the table but trail second-placed Hull by just three points with three games in hand.
