Trailing to Emmanuel Latte Lath’s first-half goal for Middlesbrough, John Mousinho’s men were inspired by one of their own recalled to the side in place of the injured Paddy Lane.
Ritchie levelled on 54 minutes following a lovely pass from Freddie Potts and then, eight minutes from time, he drove a right-footed shot in off the post to hand the Blues a 2-1 victory.
And here are our Pompey player ratings...
9. Callum Lang - 8
Had been rather quiet of late, but back to his buzzing best. Was absolutely everywhere and fittingly played a part in Ritchie’s second goal, playing the ball out wide to him. Photo: Jason Brown
10. Josh Murphy - 7
Once again a constant threat down the left and capable of making something happen out of nothing. Deserves praise for work-rate as well. Spurned a glorious chance in the 71st minute to score, putting it wide. Photo: Jason Brown
11. Colby Bishop - 7
Had very few opportunities to score up against some tough Middlesbrough defenders. Yet gave absolutely everything as ever for the full 90 minutes. Needs to as well considering the shortage of centre-forward options off the bench. Photo: Jason Brown
