But Fratton Park has still to turn on the Blues boss in his three years at Fratton Park.

And that is a significant yardstick for the club’s hierarchy when it comes to judging fan opinion, according to chief sports writer Neil Allen.

But in the latest edition of Pompey Talk, which you can download HERE, Allen believes it’s the mood at home on a matchday which could be significant.

He said: ‘There are emphatically on social media a hell of a lot of fans who want him sacked.

‘But you can’t just judge it on social-media reaction.

‘Without question on social media a massive majority want him sacked, but that’s social media.

‘In terms of the last few seasons there’s not been much unrest at Fratton Park at Kenny Jackett.

‘Okay, yes there was at Wycombe away and AFC Wimbledon away massively and no doubt other games.

‘But it’s never really manifested itself at Fratton Park yet, not really.

‘It’s what the Pompey board judge as fan opinion and it’s not happened yet.

‘Once fans come back next season it will be very interesting to see what happens.’

Pompey writer, Will Rooney, highlighted the season starting behind closed doors as a potentially beneficial factor for Jackett at present, although if fans vote with their feet when they are allowed to return that could be important.

He said: ‘When the home supporters turn you have to look at it a little more and maybe make a decision.

‘They have to look at if Kenny can climb back up the table with them if they have a bad start.

‘That’s going to be key. They need to start fast.

‘Once they do turn is maybe the time to have a conversion and ask if Kenny Jackett is the man to take the team forward?

‘It does depend, too, on whether season tickets get renewed, although we’re starting behind closed doors.

‘If November is when it’s full capacity (allowed) and it’s down to 12 or 13,000, fans are saying they’re not going while the manager’s in charge and Pompey’s income is dropping, then that’s when they may have to look at things.

‘But if Pompey are winning but winning ugly they won’t, because Pompey will be on course to reach the Championship.’
