The Blues have now entered a hugely important January transfer window, one which will dictate whether they successfully fight against the drop for consecutive seasons.
And here are our Blues player ratings for the campaign so far…

5. Terry Devlin - 8
(21 games, 3 goals) Had always been a dependable player off the bench in a variety of positions, yet since being handed the right-back role on a consistent basis in November, has been a revelation. Defensively improving, while his energy and tenacity continue to be a strong part of his game. Huge fans’ favourite and rapidly emerging as Player of the Season contender. Photo: Graham Hunt

6. Zak Swanson - 7.5
(21 games, 1 goal) Following a strong showing in the goalless draw at Southampton, Mousinho declared Swanson could finally cement the right-back slot - only to lose it again two games later. Often criticised for his struggle to find consistency, he has largely found it in the unfamiliar role of left-back in the absence of the injured Ogilvie. Can switch off in games, but plays with aggression, passion and a competitiveness which is to be admired. Photo: Graham Hunt

7. Jordan Williams - 6
(18 games, 1 goal) It has been a strange season for Williams. Initially started as first-choice right-back, lost his place, came back in again, unsuccessfully tried at left-back and now behind Devlin and Swanson in both positions. Always a dependable, reliable performer, certainly has never let the Blues down. Photo: Graham Hunt

8. Connor Ogilvie - 6.5
(13 games, 0 goals) Pompey’s Mr Dependable enjoyed a strong second half to the Championship campaign last term as he adjusted to the step up in standards. However, he has now missed the last 10 matches in 2025-26 with a knee ligament injury sustained against Wrexham. Perhaps Pompey have coped better than they thought they would in his absence through Swanson, nonetheless, Ogilvie will always be first choice when he returns. Photo: Graham Hunt
