Gaffer: Not the best performance, not the prettiest football, but I love a Portsmouth win
Finally your away jinx is over then, Jon!
Yes, after my seventh away trip of the season I have seen Pompey win – and it’s the first-ever for my brother.
Jake is aged 22 and been into football, but not properly until this season. Mind you, I nearly left him at home after being with me for six matches without a win on our travels!

Hide AdIt wasn't the best performance, not the prettiest football, but at this stage of the season you are looking for victory, so a win’s a win.
Jake was fortunate too – I was going to make walk home if we lost!
Which player stood out for you?
Christian Burgess was solid, scored the winner and kept a clean sheet, it can only be him.
Considering Sean Raggett’s display, he probably makes Burgess looks 10 times the player he is when lining up alongside him!

Hide AdNo disrespect to Burgess, I like him, he’s been around a while and is never injured, and hopefully when Jack Whatmough comes back they can partner each other.
I work with Whatmough’s brother, Charlie, for a sales company in Horndean and he doesn’t even like football. I think he’s fed up of people asking when his brother is going to be fit.
What are your thoughts on the potential red card for Sean Raggett?
His tackle on Joe Dodoo was definitely a red card, as soon as I saw it I called it.

Hide AdThe referee probably made his decision slightly too quickly and punished him with a yellow card, so Raggett got very lucky.
I have watched it back and there is no way James Bolton is getting across to stop Dodoo, so it had to be a red card.
I think Raggett is worse than Paul Downing, I don’t trust him. He’s not a player we should be looking to sign permanently.
What’s your view on Gareth Evans being dropped from the squad?

Hide AdThe problem with Evans is I don’t think he has a set position in Kenny Jackett’s system.
He’s not a 10, not a winger anymore, and while he remains a good player and I do like him, where does he fit into the side?
Evans is a club legend and it’s hard not to love him, we all do, but football is a ruthless sport and when a team is doing well and winning games it’s hard to change it.
John Marquis and Andy Cannon are ahead of him, as are the wingers, so it’s going to be tough to get him back in.
