Pompey fans have taken to social media to give their verdicts on the Blues’ 2-1 FA Cup defeat at the hands of Bristol City.

Famara Diedhiou put the hosts in front on 20 minutes.

But after Callum Johnson equalised on the stroke of half-time, it was Pompey who looked favourites to go on and book a place in the fourth round.

Yet, it wasn’t to be, with Chris Martin scoring a winner on 83 minutes against the run of play.

Here’s how fans on Twitter reacted to the result…

@PompeyDurham: Good performance, no complaints with that result. We held our own against a Championship side.

@chimer1898: Well done Pompey matched up well against a good Championship side. Now we can focus on the priority - promotion!

@jimmyjimmy11: Pompey played really well in that 2nd half. Unlucky to go out.

@richraymond84: Plenty of positives to take from it and with the potential fixture congestion in the league dropping out of the cup isn't the worst thing for me.

@LewPeet: Great performance. For the first time under Kenny I believe that we are the best team in League One. Now let’s win it.

@wayneharrispfc: Great save at the end to deny Jordy and its over for Pompey.

Very good 2nd half from us but no cigar. Martins finish the difference. No complaints.

@RyanNash1994: Pompey were fantastic today especially second half.. we probably deserved to win great 2nd goal from Bristol City but they boys can be proud Pompey definitely the better team today!

@CoreyLFHoness: No disappointment after that performance.

Held our own against a Championship side looking to get into the play-offs.
