How much Portsmouth have banked from FA Cup and EFL Trophy progress this season
Pompey have banked £615,000 from their progress in cup competitions this season.
The Blues reached the fifth round of the FA Cup yesterday following a deserved 4-2 defeat of Barnsley at Fratton Park.
Not only did Kenny Jackett’s side put their name in the hat for Monday night’s draw, but took their total windfall from the Cup to £480,000.
In the opening round, the Blues’ trip to National League outfit Harrogate Town was televised on BT Sport, with both clubs receiving £75,000.
Goals from Brandon Haunstrup and Ronan Curtis delivered the visitors a 2-1 victory at Wetherby Road, with Pompey collecting £36,000 in prize money.
In the second stage, Jackett’s men faced another non-league side in Altrincham at Fratton Park.
It took a last-gasp goal from Brett Pitman to hand the home side a 2-1 win and ensure they avoided a replay – and £54,000 to boot.
That set up a tricky third-round clash at League One rivals Fleetwood at the start of this month.
Yet Pompey inflicted just a second home defeat of the season on the Cod Army.
Second-half finishes from James Bolton and John Marquis helped the visitors to a 2-1 success at Highbury Stadium.
And with Jackett’s troops putting Championship Barnsley to the sword, the Fratton Park coffers were again topped up
In addition, Pompey have accrued £135,000 during their progress to the EFL Trophy semi-finals.
