The 42-year-old has still not been officially unveiled as manager by the club - despite meeting the squad at Fratton Park this morning and taking training.

Initially, Cowley was anticipated to be named Pompey boss yesterday after The News revealed the former Lincoln and Huddersfield chief had agreed take charge on a short-term basis until the end of the season.

However, an official announcement was not forthcoming and the wait still goes on.

As reported yesterday, The News understands there should be no concerns of a late hitch over Cowley's arrival - instead it's just a matter of time before the club release an official statement.

But the delay has left Blues supporters puzzled as to why the wait goes on. Some have questioned why both Birmingham and Charlton have been able to announce Lee Bowyer and Nigel Adkins as their respective bosses this week but Pompey have taken a longer period.

Here's what the Fratton faithful have been saying on Cowley's prolonged PO4 arrival:Chris Pompey FC - It's been so long I have forgotten what his name is, I said the other day it looks like the club are making a real pigs ear of this, its getting embarrassing now
