'I’m ready to go!' - former Portsmouth and Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp laughs off Nigeria rumours

Harry Redknapp has laughed off rumours he’s set to take charge of Nigeria.

The former Pompey boss quipped his wife, Sandra, has always wanted to move to West Africa – and he’s ready to up sticks.

Redknapp, who guided the Blues to FA Cup glory in 2008, was rumoured to be a candidate for the Super Eagles job if Gernot Rohr didn’t extend his deal. He’s since agreed to remain in his role.

Even Peter Crouch, who was brought to Fratton Park in the summer of 2008 by Redknapp before reuniting at Spurs a year later, joked on Twitter he was getting a Nigerian passport.

And speaking to talkSPORT, Redknapp jested he was going to sell his Sandbanks home and relocate to Africa.

He said: ‘Yeah, well I spoke to Sandra and she’s always wanted to live in Nigeria.

‘She said it’s amazing that this has come up now, because that was her dream. So we’re looking to sell up, we’re putting the house on the market.
