Frustrated John Mousinho has revealed what he said to match official David Webb at the end of Pompey’s 2-1 defeat at Burnley.

The Blues boss was seen approaching the referee once the final whistle had blown at Turf Moor and just after the hosts secured their winner deep into stoppage-time thanks to captain Josh Brownhill.

Clearly annoyed, he pinpointed three separate issues that irked him during the Turf Moor contest.

And speaking to BBC Solent in the immediate aftermath, the Blues boss - who was booked late on in the game - disclosed what made him confront Webb in the way he did.

Mousinho said: ‘There’s three things. So, the state of the game - every week we seem to just get hurried up from a very early stage and it doesn’t happen to other sides. If you look at Burnley’s goal-kicks, Burnley’s throw-ins, they seemed to get a lot of time with the ball.

‘Then there were two massive incidents, I think.

‘First of all, (Zian) Fleming on Jordan Williams is a disgraceful challenge. He puts him in the stand and somehow Jordan gets booked off the back of it. It’s a really awful challenge.

‘And I’m not happy with the level of officiating.

‘The one I got booked for at the back end, I’m watching it in front of me, I’m watching Harvey Blair get dragged down and the free-kick goes the other way. I can’t fathom how it’s gone the other way. It absolutely blows my mind.

‘We need more than that. We need miles, miles more than that. Yes, we need to deal with the second phase in the set-piece, but we can’t keep going on like that. It’s just unacceptable.’
