Jack Whatmough back for Portsmouth pre-season training after missing play-offs

Jack Whatmough has returned for Pompey pre-season duty.

The Gosport lad is back training with the Blues after missing the play-off semi-final defeat to Oxford United last month.

Whatmough didn’t return after the lockdown period amid the coronavirus outbreak as his partner was pregnant with their first child.

He put the health and wellbeing of his young family first, which was a stance respected by the club.

Pompey made a conscious effort not to publicise the name of the player who wasn’t participating in their play-off preparations.

Whatmough’s partner, Demi, gave birth to their baby girl, Esme Rose, at the start of July.

Now the centre-back has met up with his team-mates on the first day of pre-season ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

Whatmough made two appearances for Kenny Jackett’s side last term after recovering from a long-term knee injury.

Sean Raggett is also with Pompey, despite having yet to sign for the club. READ MORE HERE.
