James Bolton: Portsmouth equaliser against Plymouth definitely my goal, not Sean Raggett's.

James Bolton has claimed the moment which earned a dramatic point for Pompey.

Fellow centre-half Sean Raggett disagrees – nonetheless, the gutsy Blues had themselves a 2-2 draw with Plymouth.

Ryan Lowe’s side were leading 2-0 with four minutes remaining at Fratton Park.

Yet substitute Ronan Curtis provided late hope with a goal out of nothing on 86 minutes.

Then, a minute later, Marcus Harness’ cross from the right was headed home, with both Bolton and Raggett insisting it was their successful header.

Still, in Bolton’s eyes, it was a first goal of the season – and secured a deserved point for the hosts.

He told The News: ‘It’s definitely my goal. You know when you have headed it, I’ve definitely headed something.

‘To be honest, I’m just buzzing we got the draw in the end.

‘We were 2-0 down and I felt it wasn’t justified. It made our performance look bad when it wasn’t, especially the first half.

‘We’re just glad to get something out of it.

‘It came out to Marcus (Harness) and I have just nipped in front of their defender and headed it in.

‘I didn’t even know Raggsy was around me. I will have to see it back.

‘After celebrating, as I ran back to the halfway line he said “Is that mine or yours?”. I said “It’s mine, isn't it?”.

‘It’s a bit of a confusing one, I think it’s mine, but at the end of the day it doesn’t matter.

‘We’ve come back with something about being 2-0 down and shown a bit of character.’
