Joe Gallen to take charge of Portsmouth trip to Peterborough | Nigel Gibbs leaves Fratton Park
However, it has been confirmed that coach Nigel Gibbs has left the club following manager Kenny Jackett’s departure over the weekend.
Gibbs was brought in to assist with first-team duties last month as Jackett needed hospital treatment on a mole on his arm.

Hide AdIt was always going to be a temporary move – but with the former boss returning early from sick leave and since losing his job at Fratton Park, it has been decided to let Gibbs follow Jackett through the exit door.
Gallen remains, though, along with first-team coach Jake Wigley, and will take temporarily control of the team for tomorrow night’s game at London Road – a role he stepped into while Jackett recovered from his recent medical procedure.
Pompey host Paul Cook’s Ipswich on Saturday, although at this moment in time there is no indication who will be charge for that game, with the Blues actively looking for a replacement for Jackett.
Gallen acted at Jackett’s No2 during his near four-year stay on the south coast and has been his right-hand man at previous clubs Millwall, Wolves and Rotherham.
