It was always going to be a temporary move – but with the former boss returning early from sick leave and since losing his job at Fratton Park, it has been decided to let Gibbs follow Jackett through the exit door.

Pompey host Paul Cook’s Ipswich on Saturday, although at this moment in time there is no indication who will be charge for that game, with the Blues actively looking for a replacement for Jackett.
