Jordy Hiwula discusses the possibility of him being at Portsmouth beyond January

But the striker’s main focus for the next three months is to get his head down and break into Kenny Jackett’s starting line-up.

Hiwula penned a short-term deal at Fratton Park on Thursday.

He’d been a free agent since his release from Coventry in June and is delighted to have made the move to the Blues.

Hiwula’s future will again be discussed near to when his contract expires on January 20.

The 26-year-old is optimisitc that will be the case, although he knows he has to deliver on the pitch for that to happen.

Hiwula said: ‘It’s just a case of coming down and getting going.

‘I know that I’m only here for three months but I’m going to make that time count.

‘If the team is doing really well or I’m doing well then we can sit down again in January and see where we go from there.

‘I’m not really thinking about anything past January, though. For me, I just need to get my head down and try to get into the team.’
