Now, speaking this afternoon, the Blues boss insists he doesn’t anticipate any further additions in a January window which has seen four newcomers arrive at Fratton Park.

Harvey White, George Byers, Charlie Daniels and Lewis Ward have this month bolstered fifth-placed Pompey’s squad.

That takes numbers up to the 22 maximum permitted by the Football League, although 19-year-old White is not included in that tally.

The transfer window closes at 11pm tonight – but Jackett isn’t expecting additional fresh faces.

He told The News: ‘I’m not expecting any more signings, no.

‘I think it will be a quiet remainder of the day in terms of players coming in or players going out.

‘Our squad is full and there’s obviously the ability to take in younger players or move someone out to bring somebody in, but it’s quiet at the moment.

‘We’ve brought four players in during January and we have let three go – and are fine at that. I don’t think it will change during the day.

‘We have meetings this afternoon, but I’m expecting some organisation, some planning. I don’t think they’ll be any ins or outs today.’
