‘It’s not a situation where we wait until they come over to discuss this, that or the other. If something needs to be discussed, it is done anyway.

‘In terms of meeting them, they want to avoid our travelling days, for instance going up to Lincoln on Tuesday. So it might be Monday morning, or Thursday and Friday (next week).

‘They (the owners) have been very good, wanting to know what the thinking is, the clarity, how to work the budget to its maximum, plans for the future and people that are doing well now.

‘At the meeting there will be some slight planning, one or two contracts, they are things which are discussed on a regular basis.’

Michael Eisner returns to Fratton Park with the club seventh in League One and in the Leasing.com Trophy semi-finals.

Jackett added: ‘In terms of the season, it is all ahead of us, we don’t want it to fall away, we want it to keep going, it’s a competitive league and we have a chance.

‘We get our form right and it can be an exciting end to the year. I’m sure the owners feel exactly the same.’
