The Blues boss has made four changes as he seeks to reverse a run of four points from a possible 15.

From the 2-1 midweek defeat at Doncaster, out go Charlie Daniels, Ellis Harrison, Harvey White and Haji Mnoga.

There are recalls for John Marquis who netted at the Keepmoat Stadium, along with Lee Brown, Andy Cannon and George Byers.

Jackett has also ditched the three centre-half system which proved such a disaster against Doncaster.

Instead Jack Whatmough moves across to right-back in a flat back four.

On paper, it appears that Pompey are going with either a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 against the Cobblers, who occupy the League One relegation zone.

Meanwhile, James Bolton makes the bench after recovering from an ankle problem, while there is no Mnoga in the squad.

Youngster Harry Kavanagh, also a right-back, is present as 19th man.

Pompey: MacGillivray, Whatmough, Raggett, Nicolaisen, Brown, Cannon, Naylor, Harness, Byers, Curtis, Marquis.

Subs: Ward, Bolton, Harrison, Williams, Hiwula, Daniels, White.
