Kenny Jackett's delight as Ronan Curtis contract shows progress Portsmouth are making
Kenny Jackett hailed the impact Ronan Curtis has made for Pompey after being rewarded with a new long-term deal.
And the boss feels tying down a prized asset is testament to the Blues’ long-term ambitions.
Curtis has penned a new three-and-a-half deal to remain at Fratton Park until the summer of 2023.
The winger has been a talismanic presence since arriving from Derry City in June 2018.
He’s scored 13 times and created eight assists during this season’s League One promotion push – and registered both assists during the 2-0 victory over Sunderland on Saturday.
Curtis was the subject of interest from Championship outfit Blackburn during last month's transfer window.
But Pompey have ensured the Republic of Ireland international committed his future on the south coast.
Jackett said: ‘We’re all delighted that Ronan has signed a new contract and it shows the progress that we’re making.
‘He’s made such a big impression in his first season-and-a-half at Pompey since arriving here from Ireland.’
In total, Curtis has bagged 25 goals in 82 appearances.
