Josh Murphy, Kusini Yengi and a Jack Sparkes stunner with the last kick of the game secured victory for John Mousinho’s men, with Ashley Yearwood netting for the hosts in the 86th minute.
The Blues named a different team for each half, totalling 22 players, and included triallists Jamal Baptiste and Sean Patton, who both played the opening 45 minutes.
A bumper crowd were present at Privett Park for an entertaining match – and here are our Pompey player ratings...

5. Ryley Towler - 7
(Replaced by Tom McIntyre on 46 mins) Occupied his usual position as the left-sided centre-half and was very comfortable. Gosport struggled to threaten during the opening half and, as a result, Towler was rarely tested. Photo: Jason Brown

6. Connor Ogilvie - 7
(Replaced by Jack Sparkes on 46 mins) Little was asked defensively, so largely occupied his time charging down the left flank and willing to back up Pompey attacks. A gentle introduction to friendlies, which was ideal. Photo: Jason Brown

7. Marlon Pack - 8
(Replaced by Tom Lowery on 46 mins) Looked like he had never been away for the summer. Drove Pompey’s game, spread the ball around and dictated their play and tempo. A couple of cracking tackles too. Photo: Gary Oakley

8. Ben Stevenson - 7
(Replaced by Owen Moxon on 46 mins) His first outing since injury in January and, as ever, looked composed and played with the minimum of fuss. Kept things ticking over with sensible use of the ball. Photo: Jason Brown
