Michael Jacobs in Portsmouth squad as Kenny Jackett makes changes at Rochdale

In addition, there are three starting XI changes to the side which suffered a 4-0 Carabao Cup exit at Brighton on Thursday night.

New recruit Jacobs is included in a Blues squad for the first time following his arrival at the start of last week.

He effectively comes in for Gareth Evans, who is not among the 18-man match-day squad at Spotland.

In terms of Kenny Jackett’s team, Callum Johnson is back after being cup tied for Brighton, replacing James Bolton at right-back.

Vice-captain Lee Brown returns for Cam Pring at left-back, with the loanee among the substitutes.

Finally, Andy Cannon comes in for Ryan Williams, who is among the substitutes.

Evans is not in the squad, while Bolton is also not included, although the defender was carrying out fitness work on Rochdale’s pitch before kick-off.

Meanwhile, Jack Whatmough is fine after being substituted against Brighton following a knock to his right knee.
