Michael Jacobs starts - but Rasmus Nicolaisen among substitutes in Portsmouth changes against Wigan

The winger spent five seasons with the Latics before departing this summer – subsequently arriving at Fratton Park on a free transfer.

Following a substitute outing at Rochdale last Sunday, he will today start against John Sheridan’s side at Fratton Park behind closed doors.

That represents one of two changes to the team which collected a goalless draw at Spotland in a disappointing result.

Jacobs comes in for Andy Cannon in the number 10 role, with Cannon dropping to the bench.

The other change sees Cameron Pring selected ahead of Lee Brown at left-back.

New recruit Rasmus Nicolaisen comes onto the bench to replace Paul Downing, who drops out of the 18-man squad altogether.

Pompey: MacGillivray, Johnson, Whatmough, Raggett, Pring, Naylor, Morris, Harness, Jacobs, Curtis, Marquis.

Subs: Turnbull, Brown, Nicolaisen, Close, Williams, Cannon, Harrison.
