The forward, who arrived on a free transfer on Monday, was expected to be included among the substitutes, following pre-match comments by manager Kenny Jackett.

However, Jacobs did not make the Blues’ 18-man match-day squad for their second-round encounter at the Amex Stadium.

Jackett has made three changes, with James Bolton, Ryan Williams and Cam Pring handed starts.

They replace Gareth Evans and Lee Brown, who both drop to the bench, while Callum Johnson is cup tied.

Jack Whatmough continues in the centre of defence alongside Sean Raggett, after the pair recorded successive clean sheets.

Paul Downing finds himself back in the squad, providing cover among the substitutes.

Meanwhile, Alex Bass is once ruled out with an injured ankle, so Duncan Turnbull remains as the back-up keeper.

Pompey: MacGillivray, Bolton, Whatmough, Raggett, Pring, Naylor, Morris, Williams, Harness, Curtis, Marquis.

Subs: Turnbull, Brown, Evans, Downing, Close, Harrison, Cannon.
