Since then, the Blues have said goodbye to three of the players who started the second-leg game at the Kassam Stadium – Christian Burgess, Steve Seddon and Cameron McGeehan.
Meanwhile, the likes of Alex Bass, James Bolton, Bryn Morris and Ellis Harrison – who also started the last meeting – find themselves on the fringes of the first team at this moment in time. Although, Harrison did, of course, start the last game against Crewe.
Despite the obvious turnaround in team selection, though, we’re predicting a familiar look to the Pompey starting XI tonight.
Lee Brown and Callum Johnson are expected to return to the full-back roles, while a Ryan Williams return is anticipated following a recent hip complaint.
So here’s how we feel the Blues will line-up tonight in a 4-4-2 formation – and why…

9. Ronan Curtis (left wing)
After a sluggish start to the season the Irishman is rediscovering his Pompey importance. He's scored five goals in as many appearances for the Blues - and when he's in form it boosts his team-mates around him, too. Photo: Joe Pepler

10. John Marquis (centre-forward)
The in-form front man would be right to dispute the claim that Jack Whatmough is currently the first name on the Pompey team sheets. His goals, which have seen him rise to top of the League One scoring charts, have been vital to the Blues' recent resurgence, with Kenny Jackett finally getting the best out of the striker. There's no sign of his purple patching ending, either. Keep up the good work, John! Photo: Joe Pepler

11. Marcus Harness (centre-forward)
Harness is widely regarded by his peers as Pompey's most gifted player. Has the speed and skill to hand any opposing defender their biggest test of the season, and is also deadly in front of goal. Recent Republic of Ireland call-up is just reward for displays this term. The number of times he's substituted, though, is a concern. Had another quiet day against Crewe but is sure to burst back into life again. Photo: Joe Pepler
