Assistant manager Joe Gallen confirmed the attacking-midfielder is likely to need a scan on the injury he suffered 10 minutes into the second half of the game at the Stadium of Light.

Kenny Jackett’s side went on to win the game 3-1, with John Marquis netting his second of the match from the penalty spot on 85 minutes.
The victory saw the Blues pick up their first win on Wearside since 2008 and moved the Fratton Park outfit up to fifth in the table.

Confirming a scan will be needed on Monday or Tuesday, Gallen told BBC Solent: ‘I initially thought he (Jacobs) hurt his ankle – he had some ice on his ankle at half-time.
‘I think there’s an issue with his knee, not exactly sure what it is.

‘There’ll be a scan Monday/Tuesday and we’ll find out what the damage is.’
Jacobs has scored one goal in seven appearances since arriving at Pompey on a free transfer last month.
