The Blues boss is interested in signing the centre-back this summer after blossoming while on loan throughout the campaign.

Raggett moved to Fratton Park on a season-long loan from Norwich City last July.

The ex-Lincoln man had a difficult start to his Pompey career as he tried to get up to speed, having broken his ankle while at Rotherham United the previous term.

Raggett’s performance levels slowly but surely improved, though, and established himself alongside Christian Burgess in the centre of defence.

The 26-year-old has netted twice in 36 appearances, helping Jackett's side clinch a League One play-off spot after the season was curtailed on Tuesday.

Raggett’s out of contract at Carrow Road at the end of this month, although the Canaries do hold the club option for an additional year.

Nevertheless, Jackett is keen for the former Dover defender to be part of his plans heading into the 2020-21 season.

The Blues manager said: ‘We would be interested in keeping Sean here.

‘Raggett and Burgess has been a good centre-back partnership for me.

‘Our win rate when those two have been available has been very good.

‘Sean arrived off the back of not playing much the season before.

‘As the games have come for him then he's got better and that is understandable.

‘He broke his ankle the season before last and took a little while to get into his rhythm.’
