Portsmouth manager Kenny Jackett still has two spaces left to fill in his squad, with a new left-back looking like a real priority following the departure of Cam Pring earlier in the month.
A couple of names have been touted as potential targets, including veteran full-back Charlie Daniels, but as yet, no concrete move has been made, and it would appear that Jackett and his side could be in for a battle when it comes to recruiting new talent.
He told The News: “You are always looking to strengthen the squad, but there's generally not much movement and it’s very difficult to get any players at present.
“The transfer market has changed, but there is still a market for Pompey. We’re a great club and people rightly want to join us.”
In more positive news, however, Jackett is insistent that his side are still on the hunt for fresh talent this month.
He said: “There is a market there for us – and one we are working hard trying to capitalise on. We are talking to agents.”
Elsewhere in League One, MK Dons have reportedly agreed a deal for Brighton defender Warren O’Hora.
The 21-year-old has established himself as a fixture of the first team picture during his current loan spell with the Dons, and it is understood that the club have agreed a six-figure fee to make his stay permanent.
