Portsmouth boss Kenny Jackett provides insight into Spurs youngster Harvey White following Fratton loan arrival
Kenny Jackett has provided Pompey fans with some insight into his latest signing – midfielder Harvey White.
It’s been announced today that the 19-year-old Spurs ace has joined the Blues on loan for the remainder of the season.
He’ll compete for a midfield berth alongside the likes of Tom Naylor, Andy Cannon and Ben Close and is eligible to make his Pompey debut in tomorrow’s League One game against AFC Wimbledon at Fratton Park.
His stock has been steadily rising at Spurs, with the Maidstone lad featuring for the Premier League side in this season’s Europa League – coming on as a second-half sub against Ludogorets in November.
He also stood out for Spurs in their 5-0 win against Marine in the third-round of the FA Cup last week, playing the full 90 minutes.
Many of the Fratton faithful, however, will remain unaware of the teenager’s talents.
But in a brief statement, Jackett admitted the new arrival had many distinguishing features to his game which made him an ideal signing.
The manager told the club website: ‘He’s a left-footed player and an excellent footballer.

‘He’s also a set-piece specialist, with a very good range of passing.
‘After breaking through and working with the Tottenham first team over the past year, he’s now 100-per-cent ready to feature in the EFL.’
