Portsmouth succumbed to another defeat last night when they were beaten by Cardiff City by a score of 2-0, thanks to a goal from Callum Robinson and an own goal from Pompey’s Regan Poole.
The defeat left Portsmouth rooted to the bottom of the Championship table, having amassed just eight points from 11 of their league games so far. Just above them in the table are Queens Park Rangers, who also have eight points - however, their superior goal difference gives them the edge over Pompey in the standings currently. Coventry City, Millwall and Plymouth Argyle occupy the spots directly above Portsmouth in the table.
As such, Portsmouth head coach John Mousinho will need to turn their fortunes around sooner rather than later - or relegation to League One could soon become a serious threat. Despite this, one win could be all it takes to lift them out of the bottom three.
Today, we’ll look at all the teams in the Championship and rank them based on their odds of being relegated after 46 games have been played. Can Pompey turn their fortunes around before the business end of the season begins to rear its head - or will it be a swift tier to the 3rd tier of English football for Mousinho’s men?
