Portsmouth hero who is like a ‘mountain’ makes Championship Team of the Week alongside Leeds United, West Brom & Sunderland stars

A look at the Championship Team of the Week as stars from Portsmouth, Sunderland and Leeds United all feature

Championship strugglers Portsmouth treated the Fratton Park faithful to their best result and performance of the season as they earned a well deserved 3-0 victory against play-off hopefuls Bristol City. The victory was Portsmouth’s third of the campaign so far and their second home win in a row after a crucial victory over Preston North End before the international break.

Saturday’s win was Portsmouth’s biggest in the Championship for more than a decade - with their last victory by three goals coming in a 4-1 victory over Birmingham City back in March 2012. There were a number of standout performers for Pompey on Saturday afternoon as they out classed the opposition to to climb off the bottom of the table and just one point away from safety.

But only one Portsmouth player did enough to earn themselves a place in the Team of the Week after being described as a ‘constant threat’, ‘really impactful’ and like ‘having a mountain’ in the team. Can you guess who it is? Here’s the full Team of the Week based on ratings from WhoScored.com.
