The Blues fell to a deeply disappointing 1-0 loss to Blackpool to see them fall seven points off the top two at Fratton Park.

Kenny Jackett’s side failed to create nearly enough openings against the Tangerines, as they fell to back-to-back defeats to leave them fifth in the League One table.

Pompey quickly ran out of attacking ideas and that was a concern for the Pompey assistant manager.

He said: ‘We needed the three points so to come out with nothing is bitterly disappointing.

‘We were up in the box a lot and had a lot of territory without creating a lot of chances.

‘There’s disappointment that we didn’t create a lot of chances or work their keeper enough with a lot of crosses going into the box.

‘We need to do better in terms of creating clearcut opportunities - and we didn’t do that.’
