Hide AdHe netted the match-winner in the 1-0 win at Bolton as Kenny Jackett’s men went unbeaten throughout January.
Burgess is battling for the gong with Rotherham midfielder Dan Barlaser, Peterborough talisman Ivan Toney, Sunderland forward Chris Maguire, Coventry’s Sam McCallum and ex-Blues striker John Akinde – who departed Lincoln for Gillingham during the transfer window.

Should the centre-back be successful, it’ll mean the monthly prize will go to a Pompey player for a third successive month, after Ronan Curtis won it in November and December.
