Burgess collected 46 per cent of votes cast, beating Gillingham’s John Akinde, Rotherham’s Dan Barlaser, Sunderland’s Chris Maguire, Coventry’s Sam McCallum and Peterborough’s Ivan Toney to the prize.

Burgess scored Pompey’s match-winner in the 1-0 win at Bolton, as well as the 4-2 FA Cup triumph over Barnsley.
The monthly prize goes to a Blues player for a third successive month, after Ronan Curtis clinched the gong in November and December.
