'Wasn't pretty but don't care' - Portsmouth fans all say same thing following draw at Derby
Pompey end four-match losing run on road followng draw at Derby
Pompey fans on social media have been reacting to the Blues’ draw at Derby County.
John Mousinho’s side picked up a valuable point on the road and ended a run of four straight defeats thanks to a sixth-minute Callum Lang goal that was cancelled out by the hosts following a Hayden Matthews own goal on the stroke of half-time.
The point keeps Pompey out of the relegation zone, with Norwich drawing at Preston North End and Oxford suffering defeat at Charlton.
The gap to 20th-placed Blackburn Rovers, though, was extended to four following the Ewood Park side’s victory against Millwall.
Nevertheless, these fans on X would all have accepted a point at Derby ahead of kick-off.
Here’s what supporters have been saying following the final whistle.
How Pompey fans have reacted to draw at Derby
@phil72pfc: Wasn’t pretty but don’t care, sometimes these back to the wall performances are more enjoyable.
Great defending, Hayden Matthew’s challenge on Agyemang when through was outstanding but again whole back line worked hard. Take a point and move on.
@MajorRaverMatt: Take the point, but it doesn't hide the fact we lack quality, strength, creativity and the ability to pass the ball.
@JSweetman92: Would have taken a point but at times it's so bad.
@IndianaDerman: Was critical at HT but second half we were miles better without actually being dangerous going forward. Both full backs struggled all game and Pack was brilliant when he came on. Happy with a point.
@_JLWilson: Hard to watch at times, but a hard earned point for Pompey.
@CanadaPompey: Fortunate to get that. Shocking defending for the most part. Lucky that Derby attacking was a bad as our defending really. Points a point but that was a ugly watch.
@Titchyeah89: Take a point away at Derby all day.
@PORTSMOUTHFCLEE: I will take that point all day long.
@Callum17077: Would have taken that beforehand, let's get 6 points from the next 2 at home.
@Hurstisaballer: Didn’t deserve to win, but got a point. Really shouldn’t be frowned upon. Not losing away from home every week is going to be crucial in survival.
@lostfou22971139: To be fair, as ugly as it was Pompey, especially the seriously poor decision making in the opposition box, Pompey stick to the task whereas 10 days ago they’d have collapsed. That’s a hard won point.
@andymp345: Very, very lucky to get anything today but we will take it.
