More than 2,000 Pompey fans show incredible loyalty for Mousinho & Co just days after snapping at QPR
Pompey fans have sold out their allocation of tickets for their Good Friday trip to Norwich City
Pompey fans aren’t letting the horror show that unfolded in front of them at QPR on Saturday put them off hitting the road again with the Blues.
The 6-1 humiliation at the hands of the Rs will go down as the lowest point of the season as John Mousinho’s side gift-wrapped the hosts all three points on their latest trip to the capital.
It will also be noted as the day supporters, en-masse, rejected what they had just witnessed from their team, with the owners, players and the head coach all on the receiving end of flak from the 1,788 fans who spent their hard-earning money to support Pompey in west London.
A look at the Championship table at the full-time whistle on Saturday won’t have quelled anyone’s anger, either, with the Blues - who have lost five of their past six games - now just one point and a place above the relegation zone with just eight games of the season remaining.
With a trip to Norwich next on the the agenda on Friday, April 3, many of the Fratton faithful would have been forgiven for wanting to spend the bank holiday weekend as far away as possible from Carrow Road.
Yet the events that materialised at QPR over the weekend appear not to have put anyone off. Indeed, on Wednesday, Pompey confirmed that they had sold out their allocation of tickets for the game, which means more than 2,000 fans will make the trip to the Canaries to lend the Blues their support at their time of need.
That’s a tremendous demonstration of loyalty - and it’s exactly what Mousinho and the players need after the close bond between the team and the fans came under serious threat at Loftus Road.

Can history report itself for Pompey at Carrow Road?
The trip to Norwich is one of four away games left for Pompey this term. And, no doubt, few will give the Blues much hope of getting anything against a Canaries side that has picked up an impressive 33 points from their past 14 games.
However, no-one would have predicted how the same fixture on Good Friday last season unfolded, with Pompey taking a huge step towards Championship safety by storming to a 5-3 victory at Carrow Road.
The 1,889 Blues supporters in the away end that day where treated to a Colby Biship hat-trick, along with goals from Matt Ritchie and Regan Poole.
Unbelievably, Bishop has scored just four goals since that 2025 Easter extravaganza.
He could go a long way in rectifying his and Pompey’s Championship credentials if he could repeat that trick on match-day 39 of the Blues’ season.
There’ll be more than 2,000 Blues fans in the away end hoping he does.
