The exciting prediction over Portsmouth’s ‘Duracell Bunny’ earmarked for huge role after Callum Lang injury
Pompey have signed seven new faces during the summer transfer window - but there is one arrival who has already made a huge impact in the Blues’ dressing room.
Adrian Segecic has been making waves during his brief time with Pompey.
The Aussie sensation is on his way to becoming the latest Fratton favourite, with supporters already growing to love the summer signing.
It’s not just fans who have taken a liking to the 20-year-old, but inside the Blues’ dressing room the forward has already established himself as a well-respected figure.
That’s according to Colby Bishop, who has revealed Segecic’s non-stop energy has already landed him with a fresh nickname by his new team-mates.
The Socceroos youth international has already made his mark since his switch from Sydney FC, scoring two goals and assisting one in Pompey’s opening four games of the campaign.
Segecic has started all three of the Blues’ Championship matches to date, partnering Josh Murphy and Bishop in the forward ranks.
And the Magic Man believes the Aussie sensation has brought something different to the Pompey’s armoury, while also claiming the summer arrival will have a vitally important role following Callum Lang’s injury setback.
Colby Bishop on Pompey’s ‘Duracell Bunny’
The striker told The News: ‘He’s a great lad. He’s got bundles of energy and if you can’t see it already, he’s a very good player as well.
‘He’s great to play with. We didn’t get a chance to play with each other much in pre-season but the more we play with each other then the better it gets because he’s a great talent.
‘He’s like a Duracell Bunny. If someone winds him up he just keeps going which is great because we play with high energy and a high press so he’s great for that.
‘Each year you have to develop and add to it - especially now with Langy out. I think Segs is going to have a very important role this season.’

Segecic is one of three attacking players signed by Pompey this summer as John Mousinho assembles his new squad for the campaign.
The forward has been joined by Florian Bianchini and Minhyeok Yang at Fratton Park, with the duo linking-up on season-long loan deals from Swansea City and Spurs respectively.
The Blues are still looking to recruit in the forward deparment before next Monday’s deadline, with a new winger and striker on Mousinho’s wish list.
That will no doubt be made even more clear, with Lang’s hamstring injury set to see him face a spell on the sidelines.
The 26-year-old posted a surprise photo on Instagram in a hospital bed after undergoing surgery on Tuesday, but it remains unclear whether that will affect the timeline over his return. The versatile forward is currently expected to be out of action for up to 4-8 weeks.
