'Grass isn't greener. Business isn't finished': Portsmouth faithful send John Mousinho clear message as Bristol City links emerge

Bristol City are said to be showing an interest in Pompey boss John Mousinho. The Fratton faithful have had their say.

Pompey fans on social media have called for John Mousinho to remain at Fratton Park amid talk of interest from Bristol City.

Bristol City are, of course, on the lookout for Gerhard Struber’s permanent successor following his sacking in March, which saw the appointment of Roy Hodgson on a deal for the remainder of the campaign.

Mousinho has been a revelation since his January 2023 appointment, winning 70 of his 171 games in all competitions.

His most recent achievement saw the Blues complete their quest second-tier survival with two games remaining last week.

With fresh interest emerging, the Fratton faithful have taken to social media to share their messages to the 39-year-old in a bid to keep him on the south coast.

Here’s the best of the reaction…

Pompey faithful send clear message over John Mousinho’s future amid Bristol City interest

Debbie Bennett-hall: Hope you heard us on Saturday John! Still singing 10 more years this morning. And even though you called us pink ladies in your post match interview, lads we still love you and want you to stay.

Carla Lala Hodgson: John your achievements are incredible, just think what can be achieved with a bigger budget, let's hope the Eisners value your worth and give you the tools to do your job even better. Behind you all the way... who needs Mourinho we have Mousinho.

Sam Remi Ingram: Sorry I doubted you, hope you get the budget to take us forward and stay to carry on the journey, the grass so often isn't greener

Robin Lipsham: I think he will be asked to stay. But will he if he hasn't got a reasonable budget. I also think he'll have offers.

Ken Bradley: Stay and insist on a good budget for good players and not a repetition of the struggles of the last two seasons. PUP.

Stephen Dore: You always had my support John , I think you've performed miracles over the season with all the injuries we've had, plus re-jigging the team because of the injuries, managed to turn it around and keep us in the Championship with two games to go.

James Foot: Stay & take us further John. Your business here isn't finished.

Pat Warburton: Well John. You did really well with the players you had at your disposal . Hope to see you next season season with the budget you deserve .

Paul Searley: Every manager with ambition will need to succeed. He has served his apprenticeship with Pompey and if he doesn't get the budget he requires he will move on to better things. Anyone who wants to achieve would do the same thing.

Glyn Tookey: You performed miracles with a league 1 budget. I don’t agree with a lot of your subs but We love you!! The grass isn't greener so stay with us and keep pushing.

Paul T Reilly: To stay up with so few championship standard players in the squad, injuries at crucial times and atrocious referees/lines-people was an outstanding achievement. Well done John.

Clark Davies: Never wanted him out even if the worst had happened and we’d gone down-absolutely superb manager!

Steven Davis: I'll admit I was one who wanted you out after QPR, but my head said keep you till the end of the season and overruled the heart. Not to big to admit I was wrong. I hope the budget matches your ambition this year and we can push on! 10 more years John Mousinho, 10 more years I say!
